We currently have sliding doors between our conservatory and dining room.  We bought the house like that, but we didn’t like them as much as we liked the rest of the house, and we decided, in part, that we wanted to replace the doors ASAP.  We looked into buying folding doors, because it seemed to be the best solution for our needs.

Three key things we needed to look at:

1)      Was there a framework that we had to work with – as it happened, the underlying structure of the doors was replaceable with one that houses a folding doors system.  Other doors, including standard doors would possibly disturb the layout of the doorway through to the conservatory, and I was concerned that we’d lose the space that the double doors afforded.

2)      What sort of design we wanted – one of the major areas of consultation was what sorts of doors we actually wanted, which meant looking into the designs of folding doors – my partner and I planned extensively and we needed to ensure that we covered everything that was important to us.

3)      Whether we could make it fit with the décor between both the conservatory and the dining room – and it turned out that we could.  It was the perfect solution.
